FAQs
What if my dog isn’t trained or is excitable?
While it’s best to have your dog know the simple commands of sit and stay, I use a variety of methods that help me get a dog’s attention. So the level of training is not a significant factor when taking a photo. But yes, let me know beforehand if your dog is super high energy or is a puppy and hasn’t yet learned commands.
What if my dog is nervous, shy or reactive?
Not a problem. In my past experience as a dog walker, I came in contact with dogs of all temperaments. We’ll take our time and get the dog comfortable. I have no doubt we’ll capture some wonderful moments.
Can I be in the photo with my dog?
I like to have dogs take center stage in my photos and that’s what I specialize in. But I’m happy to talk about ideas for how to capture the connection between you and your dog in some of the shots.
I see you have different styles of photographs. Which ones can I choose?
Depending on the dog, I can usually incorporate two lighting styles in one session. If you see a style in the gallery that you like, let me know and we can discuss! For my more stylized photographs, which involve more precise lighting placement, your dog will need to know basic commands so they can hold a pose.
Do you require payment prior to the session?
Yes, once we consult and arrange a session date, I will ask for a $200 retainer to hold the session. The balance will be due at the time of the session.
